Emma and James had their wonderful wedding at the Oaklands Hotel on beautifully hot day in May. The glorious weather certainly set the tone for the glorious day we all had.
I started the day at James’s mum’s house for a bit of groom preparations which gave me and James the chance to catch up and talk about the day ahead, he also made me a coffee to keep me sweet!
I caught up with Emma (who was as smiley and friendly as ever) a bit later on in one of the hotel’s bedrooms where I got to take a few photos of her looking stunning in her amazing dress! As you can see from the photos below, she smiled all day long and was clearly caught up in the emotions of the day later too. It was an emotional affair and even James welled up when Emma starting walking up the aisle towards him!
Taking beautiful wedding photos at the Oaklands is easy enough but when you have a couple such as this, it makes my job even easier. The grounds at the hotel leave me plenty of room for the group shots and also give me the opportunity for some stunning bride and groom portraits.
Once I had finished with the groups, it was time for the guests to sit down for the speeches and the meal. I think James pulled a sneaky trick on his best man by making him go first with the speeches – perhaps it was to try and put him off embarrassing him so much! They were all great and a few tears were shed. What was nice and refreshing to see was the bridesmaid Sara doing a speech, she basically spent 5 or 10 minutes bigging up Emma and there were plenty of tears throughout – wonderful stuff!
After everyone had finished stuffing themselves on afternoon tea, I took the happy couple around the grounds of the Oaklands Hotel for some wedding portraits. They were bang on and were very accommodating to my requests and I thank them for that.
Emma had a little surprise up her sleeve in the shape of a singer she had booked – he seemed to go down well! I captured the first dance and stayed to catch up with friends for a short time before heading home.
Congratulations you two and I wish you all the best for your future together! As always, please feel free to leave a comment at the bottom of this page!
