Nikki and Jason got married in the beautiful Old Vicarage in Elkesley.  This was my first time shooting at this Nottinghamshire wedding venue and I hope it will not be my last as it is a stunning venue with incredible grounds cut through by a small river.

The day started with me meeting up with Nikki and her “crew” at a hotel a few miles away.  I really enjoy shooting the bridal preparations as I get to soak up the excited atmosphere and there was a particular buzz about this one as Nikki had six, yes SIX, bridesmaids each with their own levels of excitement/nervousness and the tears even started before we got anywhere near the ceremony when Nikki walked in the bedroom looking beautiful in her stunning dress!  The bridesmaids all looked amazing too in their uniquely floral dresses – something I’d never seen before as a wedding photographer, and they all made me feel very welcome – so thank you!

It was time to go to the Old Vicarage, ready for the ceremony.  I met up with Jason in the ceremony room who was looking a bit nervous, but very happy as he awaited the arrival of Nikki.  The room was absolutely full of people, an obvious sign that they are very popular and that may people wanted to be a part of this day.

As Nikki walked down the aisle, I’m sure I saw Jason well up – always lovely to see, and I could see the excitement on Nikki’s face.  The ceremony itself was a lovely affair with tears from the bridesmaids and mum, and plenty of laughter.

The atmosphere of the whole day was just happy and relaxed and the beautiful setting meant I was in my element!

Nikki and Jason were a fantastic couple to work with, and I managed to get some fantastic shots out of them.  They had a brilliantly planned day, which included a duck race for the children, even though the adults enjoyed it just as much!  This allowed for some brilliant moments to be captured.

The speeches were great and Jason’s brother’s best man speech was particularly funny!

I stayed right through until after the first dance and it was a superbly relaxing and enjoyable day where everyone was just having fun.  Congratulations Nikki and Jason and all the best for the future!

I thoroughly enjoyed my day as a Nottinghamshire wedding photographer and below are a few of my personal highlights from their wedding at The Old Vicarage.  I would love to hear your thoughts so please leave a comment at the bottom.
